Four big ideas in 40 bite sized discussions...

The forty topics are positioned on the starburst image so you can visually organize them. The cycle starts at the top with "Who is Jesus?" and proceeds clockwise through four big ideas. Think of these as deductive truths, each with a clear analogical image to learn from:

  • life in His presence: What it means to have a new identity in Christ.

  • our equipping: There is a spiritual conflict that surrounds our physical reality. God equips us specifically for victory in this battleground.

  • interdependent: Not only are we made to thrive best in community with other believers. Living in unity is the pentacle of what we could hope to achieve in this life.

  • faithful with "little:" Only when we prove to be faithful stewards of the small revelations of Him can we hope to experience deeper revelation and relationship with God Almighty.

The imagery for each of these truths wasn't chosen because they are good teaching tools. They were designed by God to be the best ways to communicate God's truth.

  • life in His presence: God designed the sheep-shepherd relationship to reveal our need and His heart in a way that words alone can not express.

  • our equipping: When Paul described the armor of God in Ephesians, he wasn't just leveraging the technology developed by the Roman army. He was imaging the core of preserving our spiritual health and vitality as we engage a very real enemy.

  • interdependent: To communicate His eternal plan (from eternity past to eternity future), God gave us the intricacy of human anatomy, temple construction, and marriage. Hidden here are mysteries of the Trinity and our intended engagement with God.

  • faithful with little: Truth embedded in the farmers' seed challenges us to approach life in Christ differently and take responsibility more seriously.
