There are eight or nine different aspects of "salvation". We'll need 12 posts to cover them (with intro and related stuff). Would be good to have a graphic that shows the separation between God and man, the cross, empty tomb, and then something about our sacrificial response.
Motivation for Salvation
The plan of salvation reconciles God’s holiness and justice with His mercy and love. In this reconciliation, the wisdom of God is revealed according to His eternal plan (Eph 3).

Aspects of Reconciliation
Generally, we know there is a barrier between fallen man and God:
Eph 2:12-19 strangers and foreigners behind the “temple” barrier
Isa 59:2 separated and banished from before Him
We see hints of the mult-faceted nature of reconciliation in the Levitical sacrifices and prescribed observance (Lev 1:1-6:7, Lev 16, Lev 23, Ex 12):
Burnt Offering...Bull, male sheep or goat, bird. Presenter must wash entrails and legs, then all is offered to the Lord.
Grain Offering
Peace Offering...Bull, male or female sheep or goat. Only fat is offered to the Lord.
Sin Offering (unintentionally straying from Lord’s commands, not making known evidence, ceremonially unclean, thoughtless oath ) Bull, Bull, male goat, female goat or sheep** Lev 4:27-35. The presenter must remove the fat if it is sheep.
Guilt Offering (unintentionally straying from regulations regarding holy things, unknown violation of Lord’s commands, deception) Flawless ram or money.
From the scripture we know that reconciliation is a multi-faceted accomplishment including redemption, forgiveness, reconciliation, propitiation, justification, imputation, regeneration, propitiation, expiation, sanctification, and even glorification1. Each of these are represented in scripture…many times discussed simultaneously and distinguished from each other.
